Good questions. Clear answers.

Useful information for planning your fence, understanding the estimate, and arranging welding or travel work.

Getting started

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Start with your location, approximate fence length, preferred material, and any photos or plans. We’ll discuss the project and coordinate the best way to prepare your estimate.

Where do you work?

We’re based in the Sioux Falls and Harrisburg area of South Dakota and are willing to travel. Tell us your city and state so we can discuss the project and logistics.

What affects the cost of a fence?

Material, height, length, gates, post system, access, slope, removal, and travel can all affect the price. A project-specific estimate makes those details clear.

How soon can installation start?

Scheduling depends on current workload, material availability, site readiness, and weather. Ask for the current schedule when we discuss your project; dates are confirmed for the individual job.

Planning

Do I need permits or HOA approval?

Requirements vary by property and jurisdiction. During planning, we review what needs to be checked and confirm who is responsible for permits, approvals, and any related documentation before work begins.

How do we confirm the property line?

The planned fence line should be based on reliable property information. A utility marking is not a boundary survey. If the boundary is uncertain, discuss a survey before installation.

What about underground utilities?

Utility locating and site preparation must be coordinated before ground work. Tell us about irrigation, private electrical lines, and other underground features so the appropriate locating arrangements can be discussed.

Can you build on a slope?

We assess the grade and the selected system, then discuss the proposed layout, transitions, and any expected gaps before the work starts.

Materials & care

Which material should I choose?

Start with privacy, appearance, upkeep, and budget. Wood offers natural character; vinyl reduces regular painting or staining; ornamental metal keeps an open view; chain link creates practical boundaries. We can also discuss composite and modern metal privacy systems.

Do you use driven posts or concrete?

Both methods may be options. The chosen fence system, ground conditions, specifications, and site needs determine the proposed installation method.

What warranties are included?

Product warranties vary by manufacturer and component. Ask us to identify the applicable product terms and any workmanship coverage in your written proposal.

Repairs & gates

Can you replace only part of my fence?

Sometimes. We look at the condition of the remaining supports and materials, product availability, and whether a partial repair will work as intended.

Can removal and haul-off be included?

Yes, when included in the agreed scope. Share the existing material, approximate footage, and access details when requesting an estimate.

Can you add or resize a gate?

We can assess a new or replacement opening. We review clear width, swing space, grade, posts, and the equipment or people using the gate.

Welding & travel

Do you offer mobile welding?

Yes. We assess on-site metal repairs and custom work, including fence and gate projects. Send photos and describe the material, location, and intended use.

Can I request urgent welding service?

Call (605) 743-0858 to discuss urgent work. We’ll confirm availability, location, and repair suitability before scheduling.

How do you estimate an out-of-town project?

We start with your city and state, photos, measurements, and any plans. We then discuss whether a site visit is needed and include the agreed travel and mobilization scope in the proposal.

Financing & warranties

Can I ask about Wisetack financing?

Yes. Select Wisetack information on the estimate form or call us. We can send the financing link for your project. Approval, APR, available terms, and promotional offers depend on eligibility and the lending partner.

Does a manufacturer warranty cover installation labor?

Not necessarily. Product coverage and workmanship coverage are different. Your written agreement and the applicable manufacturer documents control the coverage. Our warranties page explains what to check and how to report a concern.

SleekFence products have a lifetime labor warranty in accordance with our published warranty and applicable manufacturer warranties. Payment in full is required and exclusions apply.

Yes. Use our Wisetack link on the Financing page. Up to 12 months at 0% APR is available if approved. Your actual offer and terms depend on credit approval.
